Hopelessly behind again...

Have been dealing with sick people all week but will post more soon... I don't know if I'll ever catch up :)

I think I'm finally caught up! Day #8 – A song that you know all the words to

Oh, there are so many! I love learning the words to songs... but how about this wordy, fun country song? It also makes me laugh because after a Redskins' game and admittedly "a few too many" my sister, dad and I went to TT Reynold's and did karaoke... and we did this song. Well, Shannon and I did this song... my dad didn't know it so just interjected random "Yee haw's!" into the song. It was awesome...

John Michael Montgomery ~ "Sold"
(We also saw him in concert many years ago and he was pretty damn fantastic)

The video is hopelessly cheesy. Hee.

Honorable mention goes to "Hakuna Matata" from the Lion King... I know all the words including the speaking parts and it confuses and amuses my children :)

Day #7 ~ A song that reminds you of a certain event

Oh, man, this one is tough! Like I said on day #6, I usually associate songs with people rather than events. Hmm. I'm going to go with a random event that is still pretty cool ~ my very first concert that I ever attended way back 300 years ago was... Run DMC/Beastie Boys. For real. So how about as a fond memory of that awesome first concert, I'll go with "My Adidas" by Run DMC? Not like I had real Adidas back then, I think we were still getting "Faux-didas" from the bins at KMart haha!

Still catching up ~ Day #6 ~ A song that reminds of you of somewhere

Oh, this one is a little tough. I usually associate my songs with people rather than places. Hmm. I think I'll go with a college song. This one's for my Kappie sorority sisters because how could it not remind me of Saint Francis College in frozen Loretto, PA?

"Top of the World" by the Carpenters.

So behind! Day #5 ~ A song that reminds you of someone

This one is an easy one for me since we just passed the first anniversary of my beloved grandma passing away. I was driving around listening to my iPod the day that she passed away and this song came on and it hit me, hard - definitely still grab for the Kleenex when I hear it. It's a beautiful song and I love the ache in Brooke's voice.

Catching up! Day #4 ~ A song that makes you sad

Whew, got a little behind there! Time to catch up on day 4, 5 and 6.

So for what was supposed to be day #4... a song that makes me sad? The first one that comes to mind is one of the most heartbreaking songs I've ever heard. I don't know how it *couldn't* make me sad. Alison Krauss's beautiful, haunting voice makes this song even more emotionally devastating.

Take a listen here... but make sure you have your tissues handy.

Day #3 – A song that makes you happy

Oh, man, a song that makes me happy? Hmm. Well, let's go with a movie song. I am a big kid on the inside. I LOVE Disney movies, and this song? How could this song NOT make you happy? Sing along with "Hakuna Matata" from the Lion King...

Honorable mention goes to "Lily the Pink" by the Irish Rovers, "Under the Sea" from the Little Mermaid, and "Rock Lobster" by the B-52's. Oh, and "F*** You," by Cee Lo. I don't know why that song makes me happy, but it does.
